Clinical Responsibilities

1. Interviews, evaluates and assesses mental health needs of children/families referred by juvenile court.
2. Initiates Level of Care Assessments for consumers referred to BayPointe Hospital.
3. Makes clinical recommendations to the courts and other referral sources (mental health, school system, DHR) and advocates for services.
4. Participates in the local Multiple Needs Committee, as assigned.
5. Acts as a Case Manager for Multiple Needs Consumers, as assigned.
6. Effectively collaborates with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical services.
7. Serves as AltaPointe representative for the Children’s Services Facilitation Team, as assigned.
8. Provides clinical supervision, if needed.
9. Acts as liaison between AltaPointe and Strickland Youth Center/Baldwin County Juvenile Court.
10. Tracks clinical outcomes according to contractual agreements.
11. Demonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and knows how to deescalate or resolve the situation.
12. Adheres to professional code of ethics.
13. When necessary, provides individual, group, or family therapy, utilizing basic therapeutic models and theories according to consumer needs as stated in the treatment plan to consumers involved with the Strickland Youth Center/Baldwin County Juvenile Court.
14. Utilizes assessment data to support a DSM IV – TR diagnosis.
15. Provides clinical supervision as directed

1. Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as needed.

3. Actively works to enhance clinical skills.

Clinical Record Keeping

1. Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy.
2. Documents appropriate, complete and clinically comprehensive mental health assessments.
3. Documents measurable and specific goals in the treatment plan.
4. Documents in a clear and concise manner, types of consumer problems, treatment goals addressed, services, and techniques used.
5. Documents case disposition, case closings, follow-up and referrals.
6. Documents legibly.

Case Load Management

1. Effectively manages caseload based on consumer needs.
2. Meets AltaPointe’s productivity standards.

Master’s degree in a mental health discipline. Must be at least age 23, maintain a valid verifiable driver license and maintain a clear driving record.
