The Public Relations Specialist will support the Office of Public Relations to ensure the smooth running of the office and programs. This position will be the front desk “face” of the office and handle day-to-day interactions with all levels of staff members and customers with whom PR works. This individual will maintain files, produce reports, and track processes related to all public relations functions. The PR Specialist also will assist with maintenance of public relations publications, Web site content and other media. The Public Relations Specialist reports to the Director of Public Relations to execute timely and effective communication to AltaPointe Health Systems employees, key stakeholders and the communities served by AHS.
Internal – Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with all staff members and department/program managers.
External – Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with community, media and other stakeholders as assigned by Director of Public Relations.
Bachelor’s degree with experience in journalism, public relations or other field of communication is required. Prefer least one year of full-time experience in a public relations, news media, or advertising agency office. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint), Adobe suite, Wordpress or other content management system, social media, and general photography equipment and video editing.
