AltaPointe’s Adult Residential Services are designed for consumers with serious and persistent mental illness who require social rehabilitation and community support. Combining medical, nursing and clinical services, our staff provides care and treatment for more than 200 adults in need of intensive service provision. The Adult Residential Services Program consists of group homes, which are supervised 24 hours/day when consumers are on the premises. Expected outcomes are the same for each adult group home: to prevent re-hospitalization and to maximize and maintain successful community placement. Residential care focuses on the rehabilitation and return to the community of seriously mentally ill consumers.

Primary Goal of the Position
To engage and empower individuals at high risk of relapse by providing recovery-oriented peer support, strengthening treatment engagement, promoting community integration, reinforcing relapse prevention strategies, and supporting successful transitions from higher levels of care, thereby reducing psychiatric hospitalizations, crisis episodes, emergency department utilization, substance use relapse, homelessness, and involvement with the criminal justice system while improving long-term recovery outcomes.
BayPointe Hospital is a psychiatric acute care facility located in Mobile, AL with capacity to serve both children and adolescent populations and adults. BayPointe’s clinical and medical professionals assess and evaluate adults and adolescents in psychiatric crises. Treatment focuses on stabilizing psychiatric symptoms and preventing psychiatric commitment. Adults and/or child/adolescents admitted to BayPointe will have exhibited life-threatening, destructive or disabling behavior or symptoms. Each patient completes a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation and receives 24-hour clinical care for the duration of their stay. The goal is for each patient to return home or to the least restrictive level of care.

Therapist in a hospital acute setting provides individual, group and family therapy. They formulate treatment plans, behavioral management plans and provides clinical assessments of the consumers.
