Former inmates come typically everyday to receive services such as GED preparation, substance abuse and mental health treatment, or assistance with employment.

The Assertive Community...
Children's Outpatient Services provides treatment for children and adolescents and their families and is intended to improve and maintain a child’s or an adolescent’s stability in the community. Treatment focuses on problem resolution, symptom reduction, stabilization and/or prevention of movement to a higher level of care. Services include individual, family and group therapy, medication evaluation and management, case management, in home intervention, case consultation and summer day treatment services. The type of treatment is highly variable and depends upon the individual’s existing symptoms and developmental level.
Our children's hospital serves children ages 5 to 12 years and adolescent’s ages 13 to 19 years who are in psychiatric crisis. Children whose behaviors are life threatening, destructive or disabling or that require 24-hour monitoring and assessment meet criteria for admission. The program provides assessment and stabilization of psychiatric symptoms. The goal of treatment is to promote the highest level of functioning through an individualized treatment plan. The focus is on returning consumers to their homes or to the least restrictive level of care as quickly as possible, with comprehensive aftercare plans. The estimated stay in this BayPointe program is three to ten days.
BayPointe Hospital is a psychiatric acute care facility located in Mobile, AL with capacity to serve both children and adolescent populations and adults. BayPointe’s clinical and medical professionals assess and evaluate adults and adolescents in psychiatric crises. Treatment focuses on stabilizing psychiatric symptoms and preventing psychiatric commitment. Adults and/or child/adolescents admitted to BayPointe will have exhibited life-threatening, destructive or disabling behavior or symptoms. Each patient completes a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation and receives 24-hour clinical care for the duration of their stay. Children's Outpatient Services...
Case Managers assist with monitoring consumer’s well-being including needs in the areas of mental health, physical health, living, learning, working, and social environments. Case managers travel to wherever consumers reside, whether that is at home, boarding homes, or other community based living to provide monitoring, when working with children they would be going to the schools as well. The primary role of the case manager is to increase psychological adjustment for the consumer by empowering the consumers and sometimes family members with information, education and support in order to follow through once case management ends.
