Access to Care is AltaPointe's access-to-care department and the single point of entry into the majority of AltaPointe's programs and services. Access to Care is responsible for coordinating consumer care throughout our continuum, which may include facilitating hospital admissions and outpatient appointments, verifying insurance coverage, making discharge arrangements following hospitalization and providing referrals and linkage to other community resources. The West Mobile Academy is a classroom and day treatment program, housed at BayPointe Hospital, developed to meet the educational and therapeutic needs of severely emotionally disturbed students K-12 who are unable to maintain appropriate behaviors in a Mobile County Public School setting. A child/adolescent must manifest a combination of at least three criteria whose severity could prevent treatment in a less restrictive environment.

Children's Outpatient Services provides treatment for children and adolescents and their families and is intended to improve and maintain a child’s or an adolescent’s stability in the community. Treatment focuses on problem resolution, symptom reduction, stabilization and/or prevention of movement to a higher level of care. Services include individual, family and group therapy, medication evaluation and management, case management, in home intervention, case consultation and summer day treatment services. The type of treatment is highly variable and depends upon the individual’s existing symptoms and developmental level.
